The Oxley State School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association is a small but dedicated team of volunteers working in partnership with the school to support students, families, and the wider community.
We advocate on behalf of parents and contribute time, funding, and feedback to enhance learning, wellbeing, and school life. We work closely with the school executive to achieve the best outcomes for our school community. We proudly support programs beyond the standard education and offer key services.
🧡 What We Do
Our P&C operates several key services and initiatives, including:
- The School Tuckshop – We currently run the tuckshop on Fridays and are proud of our 5 green apple rating from QAST. (An achievement only 5% of school in Qld have).
- Oxley Swimming Club – A welcoming community club for swimmers aged 4 and up on Friday evenings in Term 4 & 1.
- Prep Garden Program – A nature-based learning program that introduces our youngest students to sustainability, gardening, and outdoor exploration.
- Community Events – We bring families together through events like the Trivia Night and our annual Car Boot Sale.
We also raise funds for much-needed upgrades—like the installation of a cold-water bubbler, outdoor seating, and curriculum enrichment resources.
🤝 How You Can Get Involved
There are many ways to lend a hand—big or small, it all counts!
- Volunteer a morning each term in the tuckshop
- Help out at an event (e.g. setup, BBQ, ticket sales)
- Join the Prep Gardening sessions on Fridays
- Contribute your skills in admin, grant writing, or fundraising
- Become a P&C member and have a voice in school decisions
📅 Meeting Info
General P&C meetings are held at 7:00pm on Tuesday evenings of Weeks 3 and 8 each term in the school Library Resource Centre.
All parents, caregivers, and community members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
To join the P&C, please complete the Membership Application Form and bring it to a meeting.
